Providence University organized a series of mandatory, annual, and dedicated environmental education training lectures during the academic year for faculty, administrative staff, and students. These activities were institutionally designed as internal training programmes rather than ad hoc events and were implemented across the first and second semesters as part of the university’s continuous sustainability education and capacity-building framework. The primary objective of these programmes is to strentgh sustainability literacy, environmental awareness, and engagement among the campus community, in alignment with the principles of the QS Sustainability Rankings.

Across three environmental education training activities, the lecture content covered key sustainability themes, including ESG practices, sustainable agriculture, sustainable forestry, circular economy, disaster prevention awareness, and institutional carbon inventory outcomes. The programmes featured expert talks, thematic presentations, interactive sessions, and institutional sustainability experience sharing. In total, 105 faculty and administrative staff members and 175 students participated in these mandatory training activities. Participation data are systematically recorded and used to inform ongoing improvements in sustainability teaching, engagement initiatives, and institutional governance.
