8.2.9    Employment practice labour rights

Providence university recognizes the labor rights (freedom of association and collective bargaining) of faculty and staff, including women and foreign faculty members. They participate in various meetings and organizations to discuss important issues such as coordinating labor-management relations, promoting labor-management cooperation, working conditions, employee welfare, and improving work efficiency, in order to strengthen labor-employer relations, protect workers' rights, and promote social and economic development. Additionally, PU respects the active participation of faculty and staff in these meetings and organizations, further maintaining a harmonious working environment.

To coordinate labor-management relations, labor-management meetings are regularly held in accordance with Article 83 of the Labor Standards Act. PU's first labor-management meeting was held on September 10, 2014, and labor-management meetings are held every three months.
The representatives of the labor-management meetings include:
(1) Employer Representatives: President or their designated proxy, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of Student Affairs, Dean of General Affairs, Secretary-General, Director of Office of Accounting Office and Director of Office of Personnel
(2) Employee representatives: elected directly through an open vote, with seven representatives to be elected, ensuring that no single gender exceeds more than half of the total number of employee representatives.

The term of office for the representatives of this meeting is four years. Employee representatives may be re-elected consecutively, as may employer representatives.
A total of four meetings were held during the 2024 academic year.
