12. 3 Proportion of recycled waste
Providence University adheres to the Waste Disposal Act set by the Ministry of Environment and follows Taichung City's regulations on resource recycling for handling campus waste. PU has established an effective waste management mechanism, processing procedures, and keeps records of the total waste generated across the campus.
Each building on campus is equipped with four-category trash bins, while outdoor areas have two-category bins for general waste and recyclable materials. To reduce the amount of general waste, PU strongly promotes waste classification and resource recycling. After cleaning staff sort the waste, it is sent to the recycling center, where dedicated personnel conduct a final inspection. Any non-recyclable general waste is then entrusted to a qualified disposal company for proper processing at Taichung City's incineration plant.
