11.4.8 Planning development - new build standards
Since 2011, all new building plans at Providence University have required obtaining the national sustaniable standards. In 2020, the Our Lady of Providence Chapel received the Bronze Green Building Label, and in 2021, the Good Shepherd Hall also received the Bronze Green Building Label. Future constructions will continue to aim for buildings that are ecological, energy-efficient, waste-reducing, and healthy. Additionally, the national "Net Zero Buildings" 2050 target includes improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings. According to the "Green Building Assessment Manual - Building Energy Efficiency Rating System (EEWH BERS)" issued by the Ministry of the Interior's Architecture and Building Research Institute, PU has obtained the Net Zero Building Campus Seed Training Certificate and is conducting energy efficiency audits of campus buildings to achieve the initial milestone of a net zero building campus.
