4.3.1 Public resources

Free courses leading to certificate or award:

Providence University’s Exploring Taichung School program offers free courses designed with practical and experiential approaches for junior high and high school students. These courses cultivate active engagement, foster interdisciplinary competencies, and guide students in identifying potential directions for their future academic and career development. The program further integrates the principles of social inclusion, embedding them within course activities to extend their impact beyond the classroom. Upon completion, students receive a certificate in recognition of their efforts.

Beyond academic benefits, this initiative also serves as a vital mechanism for balancing the distribution of educational resources across central Taiwan. By addressing disparities between urban and rural areas, it provides enhanced learning opportunities for students in disadvantaged or remote communities. In doing so, the initiative reflects Providence University’s broader commitment to fairness, justice, and inclusivity in education.
