
Providence University is guided by clear ethical values including equality, respect, fairness, inclusion, honesty, and human dignity, which are formally embedded in publicly available institutional policies and regulations. The University has established a Gender Equality Education Committee to promote gender equality education, prevent and address gender discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and bullying, and to ensure a safe and inclusive campus environment. In accordance with national legislation, including the Gender Equality in Employment Act and the Sexual Harassment Prevention Act, the University has enacted comprehensive regulations for the prevention and handling of gender-related incidents applicable to students, faculty, and staff.
The University also upholds a non-discriminatory admissions and enrollment policy grounded in the values of Catholic higher education and holistic student development. Providence University does not discriminate on the basis of gender, gender characteristics, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, disability, age, religion, or ethnic background in admissions, academic opportunities, scholarships, or financial aid. In addition, affirmative admissions pathways are provided to support underrepresented groups, including indigenous students, students with disabilities, students from low-income families, new immigrants and their children.
Beyond student access, Providence University promotes inclusive employment practices in compliance with the Disability Rights Protection Act and the Indigenous Peoples Employment Rights Protection Act. The University employs faculty and staff members with disabilities and indigenous backgrounds in accordance with legal requirements, supporting equal employment opportunities and social inclusion. PU has established a Gender Equality Education Committee to formulate gender equality education implementation plans, promote gender equality concepts and education on campus, prevent and address incidents of gender discrimination, sexual assault, sexual harassment, or sexual bullying, investigate and handle gender-related cases, and establish a safe and gender-discriminatory-free campus environment.
In accordance with the Gender Equality in Employment Act, the Sexual Harassment Prevention Act, and the Complaint and Disciplinary Measures for Sexual Harassment Prevention in the Workplace, PU has developed its own Gender-Related Incidents Prevention Measures. These measures aim to prevent sexual harassment, protect the rights of victims, and provide students, faculty and staff with a learning and work environment free from sexual harassment.
Non-discriminatory admission policy
Providence University follows the values of Catholic universities, focusing on compassionate education and prioritizing students' well-being. We believe in educating the whole person and strive to support students in their academic journey so they can learn comfortably and confidently.
In all admission and enrollment regulations, Providence University does not discriminate based on gender, gender characteristics, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, disability, color, religious belief, or ethnic or racial origin. All students enjoy the rights, courses, and activities provided by the university. The university's educational policies, admission policies, scholarships, and loan programs also do not differentiate based on age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, disability, color, religious belief, or ethnic or racial origin.
For the enrollment for international students, policies are based on the regulations set by the Ministry of Education. Eligible international students from 41 different countries applied for the 2024 academic year, contributing to the diverse and international learning environment of the university.

For Students:
Providence University provides a variety of educational opportunities, for students from various backgrounds. We welcome not only those from traditional academic paths, such as general high schools, but also individuals from unconventional backgrounds. This includes students from experimental education programs, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, those with physical and mental disabilities, indigenous students, and new immigrants. We offer comprehensive support measures to help meet their economic and educational needs.
For Faculty and Staff:
PU complies with Article 38, Paragraph 2 of the Disability Rights Protection Act, which states: "Private schools, groups, and private enterprises with a total staff of sixty-seven or more shall employ persons with disabilities capable of employment. The number of such employees shall not be less than one percent of the total staff, and shall not be less than one person." Currently, PU employs a total of 13 faculty and staff with disabilities, in compliance with the provisions of the Disability Rights Protection Act.
Furthermore, PU also upholds the legislative spirit of the Indigenous Peoples Employment Rights Protection Act to promote indigenous employment, safeguard indigenous employment rights and economic livelihood. There are a total of 33 indigenous employees among our faculty and staff (Teachers: 3 full-time, 12 part-time. Staff: 18).
