The University has established a University Affairs Council, which serves as the institution’s primary governing body, equivalent to a university senate or academic council, with authority to deliberate and decide on major institutional affairs. In addition to senior administrative officers, the Council includes representatives from faculty, students, administrative staff, technical and maintenance staff, teaching assistants, and contract-based employees.

In accordance with the University Charter (Chapter 3: Meetings and Committees, Article 15), student representatives hold permanent seats on the University Affairs Council, accounting for one-tenth of the total Council membership. Student representatives are selected through the student self-governing body and participate as full members of the governing body, with the same rights to attend meetings, engage in deliberations, and express opinions as academic members. This formal and institutionalized student representation ensures meaningful student participation in university governance and decision-making, consistent with the QS definition of student representation within a governing body.
