Providence University Sustainability and Climate Action Policy

In order to fulfill its social responsibility as a university, uphold its commitment to educating future generations, and enhance its capacity for academic research and technological development, Providence University is committed to reducing direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions arising from its institutional operations and activities. By addressing the environmental and climate impacts caused by global warming and climate change, the University makes the following commitments:

1. Actively promote energy conservation and carbon reduction measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the campus.
2. Engage all stakeholders within the defined boundary of Providence University in climate action initiatives.
3. Comply with relevant regulations and provisions of existing climate change–related legislation.
4. Collaborate with surrounding stakeholders and partners to jointly achieve the goal of net-zero sustainable operations by 2050.
5. Adopt sustainability-oriented policies as a guiding principle, set clear expectations for environmental responsibility, and ensure that environmental protection commitments are transparently disclosed.
